Our team has a broad range of expertise from database architecture and information security to museum practices and the registarial arts.
Eric Kahan is the president and founder of Collector Systems. He has directed the company from its origin as a pioneering web-based art database in 2003 to its present status as the industry leader in cloud-based collections management. With a combination of art world experience and a deep understanding of data architecture and information security, Eric leads business development and strategic direction. His central belief – that software should work for people, rather than the other way around – is the organizing principle for the firm and its product.
With his long experience in the art business, his dedication to privacy, and an insistence on the highest level of systems security, Eric has earned the trust of private collectors, Fortune 500 companies, major art museums, and cultural institutions around the globe. He holds degrees from the Stony Brook University in both economics and photography. A co-founder of GK Framing, he has hands-on experience in display technology and conservation. He is an advisory member of the Appraiser Association of America, and a lecturer at the Sotheby’s Institute and Johns Hopkins University.
